Turkey and Leek Patties

Ingredients

450 g (1 lb/4 cups) minced (ground) turkey
1 large leek, finely chopped#
55 g (2 oz/3/4 cup) porridge oats
1 chicken stock cube
1/4 teaspoon ground rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 small egg, beaten
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

1 put the minced turkey, leek and oats in a bowl. dissolve thestock cube in 3 tablespoons boiling water and then add to the turkey mixture with the herbs and egg. season with salt and pepper and mix well.

2 mould the mixture into eight burger shapes about 2 cm (3/4 inch) thick. chilluntil ready to cook.

3 place the patties on an oiled grill rack or in an oiled hinged wire basket and cook on a prepared barbecue for about 12-15 minutes, turning them over once.
